Longing to write a memoir? Join memoirist and MFA writing instructor Melissa Hart for a weekend workshop in which you’ll learn how to plot, structure, and plan your memoir for success.
Over two days, you’ll study the key building block of memoir–the scene–and its components including characterization, setting, sensory details, tension, surprise, and narrative arc.
You’ll learn what to include and what to leave out in your storytelling, and examine the various ways–analogue and digital–that published memoirists plot their book-length works before they write them, and leave with a concrete plan to write your own memoir from beginning to “The End.”
This online, weekend intensive is suitable for all writers, emerging to established, ages 16 and up.
- Saturday: Intensive 1-5 pm
- Sunday: Intensive 1-5 pm (optional online studio time from 10 am – 1 pm)
