The first page of your manuscript is often the make-or-break moment for your reader (and for the agent or editor perusing your work).

Led by a professional author, we’ll break into small groups. Each group will focus on the first page of everyone’s story in a round-robin critique.

Each participant will read their first page (up to 350 words) while others read along and make comments on their copy. Then, we’ll share constructive feedback to help you know what’s working and some suggestions to make your first page sing.

WHAT TO BRING: 10 copies of the first page of your story.

FORMAT: In the header or top left of the page: your name, email, and story title.

Double Spaced, 1-inch margins, 12-point Times New Roman, Courier, or Garamond
