Why I’m a Wordcrafter: Amanda Bird

Finding Sweet Support and Community at Wordcrafters

Amanda Bird has written short and book-length fiction, book reviews, essays, and a smattering of poetry for the last dozen years, in addition to being an editor for two decades. And, since 2021, she’s been a Wordcrafters member.

Amanda became a Wordcrafters member so she could “support an excellent and important organization,” find a community of fellow writers, and eat some delicious chocolate.

Wordcrafters membership has given her the writing community she was looking for, as well as the accountability to get her writing done, and new skills to help her progress in the early stages of her novel writing.

“I encounter so few fellow writers in my everyday life that it’s heartening to rub shoulders with people who get the highs and lows of the writing life and who share the urge to string words together,” she says.

Won’t you become a Wordcrafters member, too?
