Telling Your Story: Navigating the Challenges of Personal Essay and Memoir

Ready to tell your story? Navigate the tricky terrain of true storytelling with this introductory nonfiction workshop with Bronywnn Dean.

Our first day class will help beginning personal essay and memoir writers learn how to tell their story.

We will read examples of personal essays and memoir and learn how to relate each style to our own work. We will talk strategies, structure and the challenges of writing true stories.

The class will include weekly readings, in-class and out-of-class writing, and group workshop and discussion in a supportive and inspiring environment.
