Rainbow Reads is delighted to present August’s regal book of the month: Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins (she also wrote the heart-warming and adorable Prince Charming).
Her Royal Highness is about Millie Quint, an American girl who gets accepted into an elite boarding school in the breathtaking hills of Scotland. There, she is assigned her roommate Flora, a literal princess of Scotland! As their initially strained relationship blossoms into something more, Millie must confront her self-doubts about whether or not she and Flora can have a “happily ever after.”
For those new to Rainbow Reads: Rainbow Reads is a young adult LGBTQIA2S+ book group for teens hosted by Ben Lilley and Becca Hawkins of Transponder in conjunction with Wordcrafters and the Eugene Public Library. The group meets monthly to discuss young adult literature for queer teens, by queer authors, and/or about queer teens. All teen readers across the gender and sexuality spectrum are welcome.
