This free workshop is brought to you by Springfield Public Library and Wordcrafters in Eugene.
Whether you’re a plotter or a pantser, this two-hour plotting workshop gives you more than a mere outline. Using Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, 3-act structure, and a screen-writing scene card, you will learn how create a framework for your story, and you’ll get tools to plan out your novel ahead of time or guide your story discovery as you go. Perfect for those participating in November’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) or anyone who needs help creating the skeleton for their novel.
What is NaNoWriMo? That’s short for National Novel Writing Month. For the month of November, participants from around the world (affectionately known as Wrimos) gather online and endeavor to write their own 50,000-word novels. It’s a month of enthusiasm, determination, and ferociously fast writing. If you enjoy a challenge, or just need a deadline, the NaNo challenge is for you! About the Instructor:
Daryll Lynne Evans (she/her) began her writing career as a playwright with the Performing Arts Conservatory in Colorado, but has since turned to fiction and screenwriting. She has an MFA in fiction from Purdue University, and can happily dive deep into literary fiction, but her true heart is in Sci-Fi Fantasy stories, especially the giant door-stopper tomes. She has presented workshops for the Willamette Writers Conference, The South Coast Writers Conference, and Wordcrafters Conference. She teaches writing workshops for adults and teens.
