Writing plays for the theatre is different from writing other stories. How do you even get started?

You just begin.

In this supportive, playful workshop, at our November Youth Write Club, you’ll explore several starts to potential theatre plays by releasing your imagination through prompts.

You’ll be challenged and  inspired to discover the world of a play, create intriguing characters, and craft crackling dialogue through timed exercises and small group sharing.

Practice the unique art of writing for the theatre and explore your imagination. You never know where it might lead.

What is Write Club? Write Club is a monthly workshop that runs during the school year and is offered to youth 9 and up. These workshops offer the opportunity for young writers to explore various genres and topics in writing with local teaching artists throughout the year. Check out all the upcoming workshops here.
