The fundraiser you can do lying down.
Because we’re all tired.
Registration open until Sept 30 • Nap-a-thon runs Oct 1–31 • The Great Nap-In happens on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3 pm
Are you tired? We’re tired. Let’s take a nap!
Welcome to our first-ever Nap-a-thon–part peer-to-peer fundraiser, part community nap event–all in service of keeping creative writing available and accessible for writers in our community.
What is Nap-a-thon, and why are we doing this?
Nap-a-thon is built around a wildly underrated act of self-care: rest.
Rest and writing have a lot in common: both take practice, both are better with community, and we generally want more of both in our lives.
So we’re making it happen!
We’ve devised three ways for you to be part of this restorative shenanigan:
- Be a Nap Ambassador → Get some rest and raise money for Wordcrafters
- Attend The Great Nap-In → Join us at the Wordcrafters studio or online on Oct 10 for some downtime
- Make a Donation → Support the power of rest
Why a Nap-a-thon, specifically?
Because rest isn’t the opposite of butt-in-chair writing time–it’s a vital part of it.
Rest is one of the ways you can refill your creative well. Plus, everyone we’ve suggested the idea to has responded with “sign me up!”
Resist the hustle. Take a nap. Join Nap-a-thon as a nap ambassador, attend the Great Nap-In, and make a donation to support creative rest.
Be a Nap Ambassador
When you sign up as a nap ambassador, you’ll get your own personal fundraising page to share with friends, family, and anyone who’s ever told you that you look tired.
Set your personal rest goal (taking a nap, getting to bed earlier, or simply resting–you know what you need), then ask folks to sponsor it.
Throughout October, as a nap ambassador, you’ll fundraise (and nap) toward that goal.
Nap-a-thon: the only fundraiser to ask less of you.
Ambassador sign-ups are open through September 30, 2026.
Here’s a walkthrough of the steps to get set up.
Support Nap-a-thon
Don’t want to nap? That’s OK. We’ve got ways for you to still join in the (very restful) fun.
Sponsor a nap ambassador
Already know someone who signed up? Find their page and give directly — every gift shows up on their total and gets them one step closer to their goal.

Make a general donation
Don’t want to play Nap Ambassador favorites? Your donation to the campaign still supports Wordcrafters’ programs–including Writers in the Schools, which brings creative writing instruction to Lane County kids who might not otherwise have access to it—and helps keep our Eugene studio open and thriving as a vital third space for the local writing community.
Attend the Great Nap-In
On Saturday, Oct 10 (World Mental Health Day), from 3-5 pm, enjoy a restorative afternoon of tea, guided meditation, restful napping (on your choice of surface), and some post-nap dream journaling.
