How small can you write? Come practice writing (really) short flash fiction stories. Using a selection of prompts we’ll explore writing micro-fiction and give our readers a quick glimpse into another world. Exercises are structured to teach students how to dive right into the action, be selective in their word choice, and create writing habits even when they’re short on time. This workshop is perfect for fiction writers who love short stories and longer-form writers who want to challenge themselves to “write small.”

Masks will be required as we have medically sensitive folks attending, and want everyone to be able to participate.

About the Instructor

Drea Lee (she/her), is a literary and performing arts educator as well as the programming and Fiction Fantastic coordinator for Wordcrafters. She has a B.A. in writing and literature, an M.A. in educational technology, and took part in ASU’s Your Novel Year program in 2016. When she’s not teaching, you can find her reading YA novels or playing with her three adorable chihuahua mixes.
