We’ll cover the basics of planning an episode and a series, using examples from popular podcasts, breaking down what has made them successful (or not). We’ll talk about current platforms to publish and syndicate your podcast.

This weekend course will help you:

  • Define your goals,
  • Detail project management,
  • Decide if monetization should be part of your plan,
  • Dive into scripting, recording, and audio production using accessible tools on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Our goal won’t be audio perfection but learning a workflow that helps you produce and publish your podcast on a consistent basis. This ten-hour course (six hours on Saturday, four hours on Sunday) is designed to give you the tools you need to hit the ground running.

Want to get the most out of the course?
Keys to success include:

  • An existing knowledge of podcasts and the show you would like to create,
  • The ability to navigate and use a Windows, Mac, or Linux PC, and
  • A basic understanding of audio recording.

Students are encouraged to have Audacity installed on their laptop or desktop, with a working microphone and speakers (headset or earbuds with mic will work as well).
