Craft Consults are one-on-one sessions with Wordcrafters’ own Jeaux Bartlett and Daryll Lynne Evans—two experienced writers and editors who’ve seen a lot of drafts, managed many creative crises, and have genuinely useful things to say about yours.
Thirty minutes or sixty. In person or on Zoom

How it works
Book your session
Choose 30 or 60 minutes and pick who you’d like to work with. You’ll answer one quick question when you book: What’s your most burning writing question or topic? This helps us come prepared.
Show up
We’ll meet in person at our studio in Eugene or online via video chat, your choice.

Meet your writer craft consultants
Daryll Lynne Evans, Executive Director (she/her)
Daryll Lynne has been at Wordcrafters since our very first event in 2013, (plus she’s been a writer for the last 30 years,) which means she’s witnessed almost every version of the writing life—from first drafts to finished manuscripts, publishing decisions, and everything in between.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Purdue University, where she also taught and served as Assistant Director of Creative Writing. She’s written eleven plays.
She’s especially in her element with developmental editing, story structure, plotting, and the full arc of genre and literary fiction—and she brings rigor and warmth to conversations about writer life and career.
Daryll Lynne works especially well with:
- developmental and line editing
- plotting and story arcs
- genre fiction and literary fiction (particularly women’s upmarket and historical),
- novels and short stories

Jeaux Bartlett, Associate Director (they/them)
Jeaux is an award-winning journalist, editor, and author currently pursuing their MFA in creative writing. They bring a sharp editorial eye and a practical, no-fluff approach to whatever’s on the page.
